From Rural Roots to NIT Patna
Alok Singh’s journey reflects determination and perseverance. Coming from a farming family in rural Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, he became the first in his family to pursue higher education.
Coming from a family where limited resources had already prevented his elder sisters from completing graduation, Alok dreamed of pursuing engineering but faced financial constraints.
After scoring 94.3 percentile in his first JEE attempt, he qualified for JEE Advanced but could not secure an IIT seat. Determined to try once more, he took a drop year, but continuing at an expensive coaching institute was beyond his family’s means.
Through the guidance of his mentor, Alok came to know about Parmartham’s coaching program for droppers. With hostel accommodation, coaching, transportation, continuous mentorship, and support for his academic and personal concerns, he prepared for his final attempt with renewed determination.
His perseverance turned into achievement. In 2026, Alok secured 98.6 percentile in JEE Main and 98 marks in JEE Advanced, clearing the cutoff of 82 marks.
With the opportunity created through Parmartham, he is now pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Patna.
From a village where opportunities were limited to a campus where dreams take flight, Alok’s journey is a testament to what determination, guidance, and the right opportunity can achieve.
